About
Work

Hi there! My name is Eva, and I am a producer, videographer, and journalist based in New York City. I currently work for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt: Kids Edition, an Emmy-nominated news program for children that works to build informed, curious, and compassionate citizens.

‍

Throughout my media career, I’ve produced videos for The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe, built a podcasting startup from the ground up, and taught filmmaking to high school students. (I also sold a few wedding dresses and walked a couple dogs along the way.)

I can write broadcast scripts on deadline, set up studio lighting and run a control room taping, shoot and edit anything from a full-length documentary to a TikTok, and create, post, and optimize social video content. My favorite stories prioritize creativity, innovation, and the art of learning something new.

Associate Producer: November 2022 - Present

As the sole producer assigned to Nightly News: Kids Edition, I’ve picked up some incredible and unexpected skills along the way: running our social media accounts, editing in AVID Media Composer, writing award applications, and tracking voiceover for my own pieces, like this one on the Galapagos Islands.

I’m proud of writing and producing our first Pride explainer, which explains the history and significance of Pride Month, including the 1969 Stonewall Riots, in an accessible, child-appropriate manner.

I’ve also had the amazing opportunity to produce celebrity interviews for book, theatre, film, and TV projects created for children and young adults! From The Super Mario Bros. Movie to Suffs the Musical, we've showcased some incredible talent and work.

Associate Producer, Video: October 2021 - October 2022

I was the first video producer hired to Lost Debate, an NYC-based nonprofit media company created to combat polarization and misinformation in the media. I built Lost Debate's flagship podcast show and presence from the ground up: from researching best practices, to building the set, to single-handedly filming and editing the show for YouTube twice a week.

I also sharpened my skills in social video at Lost Debate. I produced Instagram and TikTok content on a regular basis, creating style guides and training documentation for my fellow producers along the way.

I pitched, wrote, and edited the network’s first video essay, “Let’s Talk About Trans Athletes,” after I noticed staff shying away from the subject. As the team's resident LGBTQ staff member, I felt I could interrogate biases from multiple perspectives. My goal was to provide a scientific and historical context for trans people in sports to inform a greater understanding of the issue beyond the culture wars.

Lead Filmmaking Teacher: Summer 2020 + Summer 2021

I spent two summers teaching filmmaking to high school students at The Putney School’s Summer Arts Program, a progressive, private boarding school that emphasizes critical thinking and engagement for students. I prioritized this philosophy in my instruction by developing a comprehensive, collaborative, and accessible filmmaking course.

Students in my course engaged with every part of the production process: pre-production and writing, cinematography and film producing, and post-production editing in Adobe Premiere. Their final projects premiered at a program-wide screening.

I also served as a dorm leader of the queer + gender nonconforming dorm, emcee'd the faculty work presentation, and helped produce the 2021 Putney Summer Arts Fashion Show :)

Associate Video Journalist: June 2019 - February 2020

During my first post-graduate role at the Wall Street Journal’s video team, I had the privilege of working on both longform content and short social video projects. I pitched, scripted, filmed, and edited everything from WSJ Originals to short-form social media videos.

Some of my favorite pieces focused on tech reviews with Joanna Stern, WSJ’s senior personal technology columnist. This AirPods Pro Fit Test was especially fun!

I also sharpened my AfterEffects skills and created a weekly animated Twitter video series based on Jo Craven McGinty’s column The Numbers.

Video Correspondent: December 2017 - June 2019

I joined The Boston Globe’s video team as a full-time intern in December 2017. After my internship ended, I continued to work for the team part-time through my final year of my degree at Northeastern University.

Each day, I pitched, filmed, and edited feature video packages on deadline, working with Boston Globe reporters to provide visuals for their written stories.

I shot, conducted interviews, and edited for "A Promising Pianist Must Start Again," the story of professional pianist Sonya Badouil whose life and career were irreparably changed by a tragic accident.
